Many of the LGBT-oriented bars/clubs in Cleveland can be found on the city’s west side.  There are several on Detroit Avenue with others spread around that general area.  There are also two bars/clubs downtown on St. Clair Avenue.  And two lesbian bars on State Road.

Most of the bars/clubs are mixed although there are some that are predominately male like the leather-oriented Leather Stallion Saloon (on St. Clair Avenue) and Man’s World complex (2905 Detroit Avenue).  The Nickel (Five-Cent Decision) and Paradise Inn on State Road are, as mentioned earlier, lesbian bars.

The Grid/Orbit (on St.Clair Avenue) is the largest dance bar/club.  The Union Station/Bounce complex (2814 Detroit Avenue) has a full-service restaurant and also has dancing and drag shows on select days of the week.  Many of the bars/clubs have outdoor patios in the summer months: Twist (11633 Clifton Boulevard in Lakewood) and the Leather Stallion Saloon (on St. Clair Avenue) are especially known for their patios. And Club Argos, tucked away on West 25th, is a sports bar.  For more information, download the Official LGBT Visitors Guide. –Positively Cleveland Visitors Center (CM)
